When news and pictures of the new Benefit Posietint reached my ears, I was very excited in getting my hands on the lip and cheek stain. I am quite a fan of the Benetint, so when I found out that the Posietint was going to be pink, I knew I had to get it.
Description:
The cheekiest flush you can get from a bottle. Our petal-pink stain plants a kiss of see-through tint on cheeks & lips. With hours of smudge-proof, just-picked perfection, you’ll be the prettiest bloom in the bunch!
Tips and tricks: Brush three strokes on the apple of your cheek and blend quickly with fingertips. Do the same on your other cheek. Dot on lips & blend with fingertip. For a deeper “pop” of color, repeat.
The Posietint is of the same size as the Benetint. Its texture is creamy, compared to the watery Benetint. I was a bit apprehensive when I tried it out, looking at the bright bubblegum-pink liquid. I didn’t want to end up looking like a doll (the not-in-a-good-way kind, y’know what I mean?). However, when I applied it on my cheeks, it gave me the prettiest pink flush I’ve ever seen on myself!
As a cheek stain, I absolutely love it. I don’t normally wear pink blushes, but this one gave me a very natural and pretty flush on the cheeks. I’d normally layer the Posietint on my cheeks at least twice to achieve a natural blushed look. It didn’t work for me as a lip stain though. The colour hardly showed on my lips. I’d be sticking to the Benetint for that one.
Given that it is a lip and cheek stain, it dries very quickly, so it would be best to quickly blend the liquid onto the skin after application.
An instruction sheet was included with the bottle of Posietint. It suggested that you brush three strokes on the apple of your cheek and then blend quickly with the fingertips. I do not recommend this. As the liquid dries pretty quickly, by the time you brush the cheek stain onto your face and close the bottle, the first stroke would have dried a little, and you’d be left with a hint of three brush strokes on the face (yeah, I made that mistake. Looked like pink war paint on my face. Eeek). Plus for fair-skinned ladies, it might be too pink for you.
I’d suggest that you brush a stroke onto your index finger, and blend onto the cheeks. Layer if you want it a little more pink on the cheeks. This will give you better control on the colour, plus it would blend better.
If you’re not sure if the Posietint would work for you, let’s put it this way. If you can wear the Dandelion, or any sort of pink blush, you can definitely wear the Posietint.
The Posietint does not have the strong rose scent that the Benetint has but there is a hint of fragrance nevertheless. It’s not strong, which is good.
Benefit Posietint is currently not available in Australia nor Malaysia yet. I reckon it would cost the same as the Benetint (it’s the same in the US). I bought this on the Benefit website for USD28. Again, it’s highly recommended to buy your Benefit products on the website, because even after factoring in the shipping costs, it would still be cheaper than getting it in Australia or Malaysia.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m a-gonna go prettify myself with the pink stain 😛
What I like about it: Lovely natural pink flush on my cheeks. Easy to blend. Oh, and how cute is the bottle? 😉
What I did not like about it: It didn’t work for me as a lip stain.
i can’t help but i really want to say,
you have such beautiful eye!!!! omg omg i feel like falling in love with your eye and dimple, can i? like puppy eyes sooo cute!
i second prettybeautiful!
just wondering whether it will work on top of foundation?
Prettybeautiful:
Aww man, now you’re making me blush 😛 Thanks for the compliments, babes 🙂
Kimberlycun:
Now a double blush is coming on :p Thanks!
I tried it on top of my Everyday Minerals foundation, and also Max Factor Powder Foundation. No problems at all. But with powder on the face, I’d suggest you to blend it in quickly before the colour sets in.
oh dear, ur eyes are huge!
…so jealous…
*sniff*
oh ya, does posietint stains the finger like benetint so?
You know what? Before you had the Bentint..I thought it was the after shot! Your cheeks looks glowing! I love it! You look so beautiful!!!(even just half of the face LOL) and your eyes are sparkling!!!! LOVELY LOVELY LADY!!!!! <-- gosh..i'm turning into a man! LOL
You look good with Posietint so I second all of the above wonderful comments! I’m still apprehensive as to whether it’ll look good on my skin, so I’ll just have to wait it out till the stores have ’em to try it out before buying! At the moment, I’m still a Benetint fan. heh…But you look real good! 🙂
Ooh, pretty pink cheeks! Great review, Tine you look lovely. =)
that looks perfect on you! I really liked Benetint too but I’m waay too clumsy for it. I’ve spilled one bottle and broken another. *sighs* So I’m using Origins Pinch Your Cheeks which personally, I feel works better in terms of blending but it doesn’t stay on as long.
Jessie:
Aww thanks 🙂
The Posietint does stain the fingers, although not as deep in colour as the Benetint. It would look like your hands got stained by coloured red eggs, y’know?
Askmewhats:
Hehe, thanks for the compliments, my dear 🙂
Indulgent Diva:
Aww I’m getting all flushed from the lovely compliments, and I’m not even wearing any now :p In that case, yeah, I’d suggest you to wait. It’s not going anywhere anyway, the Posietint.
Kahani:
Cheers, girl :p
Connie:
Hmmm then I shall go check out the Origins Pinch Your Cheeks that you mentioned, although I really shouldn’t be getting any more blushes, ‘cos I have enough to last me a lifetime :p
Bought it!
And it’s at least partly your fault! ; )
You and your pretty pink cheeks…
Hi, I just wanna say this is a very good review, but since I’m more interested in using Posietint as a lip tint, I wanna ask you some questions: When applied on lips, what color would it give your lips (is it the bright pink color like the swatch on on your finger??) And since it doesn’t work for you as a lip stain I suppose it doesn’t last long does it?? Sorry for asking so many questions, I’d appreciate it if you can help. Thks so much ^^
