When I was a bridesmaid to a very dear friend a couple of years ago, the makeup artist who was doing my face recommended that I tried the tinted moisturizer, primer and foundation by Laura Mercier as it was known to be a very good brand. As Laura Mercier was not available in Penang, I was only able to get it in Kuala Lumpur. As a start, I bought the tinted moisturizer at Robinsons in The Gardens Midvalley last November.

It comes in a 1.7 fl. oz./50ml tube, and there are seven shades to the light foundation.
I bought the Nude, which looks like this.
I’ve tried tinted moisturizers by Neutrogena and Clinique, and I have to say, this is by far the best I’ve encountered. In Malaysia, I could skip the moisturizer, and just use this. In Australia, I’d apply moisturizer before this, as the weather is dry. It worked well as a very light foundation as well. There was no need for me to have any foundation on my face at all during the day; it evened out my skintone pretty well. For better coverage, I’d layer more of the tinted moisturizer on my face.
I like the consistency of the moisturizer. It’s not too thick, which I like. I love the oil-free texture (needed it for my combination skin). Plus it’s got sunscreen of SPF 20, so that is a huge plus for me. Quality stuff, I’d say :p
All in all, I really like this tinted moisturizer by Laura Mercier, and it’s something I would definitely buy again.
Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer is available at the Robinsons at Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur at RM153. It costs AUD72 in Australia, and you can get it at Myer. This is also available online at USD42.
What I like about it: Light texture, good coverage, kept my skin hydrated even without moisturizer
What I did not like about it: It is a bit on the expensive side, but then again, it IS Laura Mercier.
I remembered using tinted moisturiser as a teen and then I left it out of my regime. I’ve heard lots of good things about LM but never thought to try. Now I should go wrangle out a sample somewhere hehe…
Paris:
Yeah me too actually. Before using foundation, I used tinted moisturiser. That was the one by Clinique. Laura Mercier is pretty good, you should give it a go 🙂
I’ve heard great stuffs about LM primers…but never thought their tinted moisturizer rocks as well 🙂 thanks for this review 😀 I’ll give it a go when I’m on for tinted moisturizer..
I am a loyal Laura Mercier user and seriously when i first using it. i thought it’s a bit pricy… but after that, it’s really worth the price that i am paying for and it makes my skin really natural and now i cannot leave without the primer as it makes my makeup stays the whole day
Askmewhats:
Laura Mercier’s Primer is really good too. I’ll be doing a review on that soon. But yeah, I love the tinted moisturiser. Do check it out 🙂
Caryn:
I totally agree with you. It is dear, but I think it’s worth the price. You can use cheap makeup, but the layer between the skin and the makeup has to be good.
My niece looked really dashing in the tinted moisturiser. It was so hot yesteday and yet she looked great! Im going to get one too.
