Do you remember when I wrote about Skin MD Natural?
Well, this time I was sent Gloves In A Bottle shielding lotion for a review. This was actually sent to me in the beginning of the year. As I was busy preparing for the wedding, and also to move to Melbourne, I wasn’t able to check it out then. At the last minute, I packed the bottle with me, and thought I’d try it out here, where the weather is drier, just to see how well it would work.
Description:
Gloves In A Bottle is a shielding lotion that rapidly absorbs into, and bonds with, the outer layer of skin creating a protective layer while retaining the natural moisture from within.
Instead of attempting to replace natural oils, Gloves In A Bottle forms a web or bond with the dead skin cells that works like an invisible pair of gloves. This invisible pair of gloves helps reduce the natural oil and moisture loss allowing the skin to heal itself. Gloves In A Bottle helps the outer layer of skin to keep its natural oils and moisturizers that protect the deeper layers of skin, leaving the skin soft and supple.
Gloves In A Bottle keeps the outer layer of skin functioning so well so it can breathe and perspire naturally. Because Gloves In A Bottle becomes part of the outer layer of skin itself, it doesn’t wash off like conventional lotions. It comes off naturally with exfoliating skin cells.
It’s greaseless, non-sticky, fragrance-free, hypoallergenic, safe and non-toxic.
To be honest, this isn’t too different from Skin MD Natural. The texture is about the same.
The lotion is pretty light, and feels rather watery when I squirted it out of the bottle. However when I applied it on my skin, it started to react and formed a paste-like substance, and I had to rub them in. I applied the lotion on my arms and elbows as well; my elbows gets very dry at times when I’ve forgotten to apply lotion on them. After two days of application, the dry, white-flaky skin disappeared, and my elbows are now as smooth as a baby’s bottom :p
I know it says GLOVES in a bottle, which implies that it is a hand cream, but what the heck, I applied the lotion on my legs and body as well. I was very pleased with the lotion as it kept my skin hydrated. I normally apply the lotion right after a shower, when my skin is still moist. This way, the lotion works better. By the way, this tip works on all body lotions.
I find that it’s better than store-bought lotions, and is great on dry skin.
I was very kindly sent a 240ml bottle, which lasted me quite a while. It took a little lotion per application, which was good. I actually have two sample packets of the lotion, which I unfortunately left in Malaysia! Very sorry, dear readers, that I’m currently not able to give any samples away to try out 🙁
Nevertheless, ff you would like a bottle of Gloves in a Bottle in exchange for a review, please contact Pete Grimaldi at petegrimaldi[at]earthlink[dot]net. However, if you would just like a small sample, please click here.
What I like about it: Non-sticky, non-perfumed, and kept my skin properly hydrated in the dry weather.
What I did not like about it: It is not available in Malaysia and Australia.
This looks like a neat product! I will try and get my hands on a sample…
Rinnah: Oh you should. Do contact Pete. He’s been really accommodating and friendly, plus a bottle of the good stuff in exchange for a review is a pretty good deal 😉

I use Gloves in a Bottle which was recommended by my dermatologist. I have extremely dry skin all over my body and use this product not only on hands but on arms, legs, etc. It does coat my skin and keep the moisture in so I do not itch any longer!!
