I’ve heard so much of CoverGirl when I was in Malaysia, but for some odd reason, it just wasn’t available to us (it still isn’t). So you can imagine my excitement when I found out that they have CoverGirl here in Australia! I know, I know, this isn’t what you’d call a majorly fantastic brand or anything, but to me, it’s a classic.
This lipgloss was the first CoverGirl item I bought when I moved here.
Description:
Pamper your lips with fresh, fruity flavour, a burst of shine and the smooth feel of a lip balm! Each pocket-sized tube of Wetslicks Fruit Spritzers has a conditioning formula, with botanical ingredients, helps improve lip condition over time and lock in moisture for hours.
Out of the many flavours available, I’ve already gotten myself 5 tubes. I think it’s safe to assume that I love the lipgloss :p
You know how sticky lipgloss can be? I know it’s a contradictory statement given that that’s how it should be, but I cannot stand sticky lipgloss. Especially when it’s thick and goopy. CoverGirl Wetslicks boasts on giving you a hint of colour and all the glossiness with the stickiness. And how true it is. The gloss feels great on my lips, and I don’t have to worry about my hair sticking on ’em.
I like how the spout of the tube is slanted; this makes it easy for me to apply the gloss (I don’t like the ones which are rounded at the tip with one tiny hole. How are you supposed to apply the lipbalm evenly with that?). The gloss glides on my lips easily. Love the hint of colour too.
According to the CoverGirl US website, there are 12 colours and flavours to the Wetslicks.
So far, I have not seen Fig Splash and Guava Splash sold in Australia. Still, I think I have enough lip gloss to last me quite a while :p
CoverGirl Wetslicks Fruit Sprizters are sold at Priceline at AUD9.95. My next flavour would be the Cool Cocoa Mint Splash 😉
What I like about it: It’s the least-sticky lipgloss I’ve ever used. Love it!
What I did not like about it: Would like to have a bit more colour to the gloss.
NO NO NO!!! Try raspberry the next time!!! I have that and I love it 🙂
I got watermelon for a friend and I should ask her what she thinks of it =)
I just bought the CG E/S quad..hmm..never thought of trying their lipglosess, but since you said it’s not sticky..I WILL give it a try soon!!! Really? 12 colors? We don’t have a lot of color choices here..i’ll take trip to the mall soon to checkout the glosses 🙂 thanks
The first thing I remember about CG is Niki Taylor (!!) CG was available in Msia during the early-90s, then it mysteriously disappeared…took me a long time to find a replacement for my CG powder compact! :O
Will have to give these glosses a miss though, since I prefer sticky glosses (but I’ll admit the Strawberry splash colour is tempting…)
The watermelon one looks great! I love anything watermelon. LOL.
Oh man… you gotta stop tempting me! I’m so going to haul the whole priceline store back when I go back for a visit!
You sold me on “least sticky” though I still don’t like lip gloss 😛 Watermelon and tangerine look pretty though. 🙂
Geekchic:
Oh yeah, I forgot about the Raspberry. Hehe, yeah, I’ll most likely try that one first. I hope the 20% discount still applies at Priceline. God, I love their discounts.
Oh the Watermelon Splash is simply yummy. The bad thing about yummy glosses is that it often ends up IN the mouth, rather than ON it!
Askmewhats:
I have yet to try their eyeshadows. To be honest, they don’t really appeal to me because the colours are a bit too dull for my liking. Back to the Wetslicks, there are 12 flavours, but I don’t know if all will be available to you. We only get 10 here anyway.
Beetrice:
OMG, yes yes! I totally forgot about Niki Taylor! She was my favourite ‘supermodel’ at that time. Love the mole 😉
Yeah I remember you like your sticky gloss. I might still just get one for you to try it out, you might change your mind 😉
Daphne:
Dahlink, I get tempted EVERY day when I read beauty blogs :p
Paris:
The Tangerine Splash is a little too orange for my liking though. I wear it now and then just to lick it off. Tee hee!
you are right tine, the e/s colors are mostly in earth tones and combi of matte and a few shimmery…
about the wetslicks, we do have them here, but I dont’ think it’s even more than 5 hehehe not sure..have to check it out again 🙂
